A customer that is a legal entity shall immediately upon retrieval, collection or receival of ordered products inspect the shipment and report any damages on the outer box to the pickup/access service of the forwarding agent and save a copy of the report for your reference if something is damaged inside the box. We do not deliver ordered products if you want the product delivered to an address in a country or region that is illegal for us to deliver to (for example when there is a trade embargo), where there is a war, conflict or instability of any kind. Please be informed that we may have limited possibility to offer delivery to islands or other places that do not have fixed bridge connections or where global freight legal entities do not normally deliver. Returns must be made no later than 14 days after date of pickup to generate a full refund of the purchase value. Returns made later than 14 days after date of pickup can be exchanged for other products. Returned products must be kept in its original packaging, in good condition and unopened. Damaged or opened products will not be accepted and no refund or exchange will be made. Please note that refunds are not valid for discounted or customised products. Freight costs for returns outside of the EU will be covered by the customer. Within the EU we offer free returns. L:a Bruket is not responsible for any charges imposed by authorities or customs when returning a parcel, they are the responsibility of the customer. The products are made on the west coast of Sweden by our partner and manufacturer who has a vast knowledge in and experience of making natural and organic skin care.
We have chosen to use plastic PET bottles for our larger products. This is due to the fact that glass bottles demand a lot more energy in production as well as being heavy in transport. Another aspect is that larger glass bottles may break floor tiles as well as bathroom ceramics if dropped and this will not be very sustainable. For the moment all our plastic bottles are made of recyclable food grade virgin PET. Shortly we will gradually introduce recyclable PCR (Post Consumer Recyclable) PET bottles made of recycled plastic. Using PCR PET is the environmentally best alternative so far, not using biopolymer plastic (made from sugar cane), that on the contrary is not biodegradable as one might think. For the time being there are no sustainable biodegradable alternatives even though a lot of research is made. The best thing to do with our empty L:a Bruket bottle is to refill it, if it is a hand & body wash/ dishwashing liquid, or recycle your bottle so it can be reused again and again. Our smaller facial products do have glass bottles since we have found they work best with that type of product, however as they are small, they will not affect transport weight or risk to break tiling the way a larger glass bottle will.
No, we would never use animal testing for neither our ingredients nor our products. The reason we don´t inform about this fact on our packaging is that is forbidden by EU-law to mention “not tested on animals” as animal testing is prohibited within the EU for many years.
Store in normal temperature (18°C) and keep away from direct sunlight in order for the products to stay fresh.
Opened products will last for about 6 months and is shown by the “open jar symbol” on the packaging. However, some products will last a lot longer so always use your nose to determine the status of the product not to unnecessarily waste a good product. Remember that the products have a shelf life (best before date) of about 36 months but may very well be fine for a lot longer if stored correctly and unopened. The exception is our lip balm that has a shelf life of about 18 months.
Yes, we make 1000ml refills for our hand & body wash as well as our dishwashing liquid. We also do 260g refills for our scented candles.
Our sunscreen has a high protection of SPF 30 and protects against both UVA and UVB rays.
No, the titanium dioxide in our sunscreen has no nanoparticles in it. There is titanium dioxide with nanoparticles and without. It is the size of the titanium dioxide particles that determines whether they are called “nano” or not. Since the use of nanoparticles is disputed, as they are so small they can penetrate the skin, we have chosen to use titanium dioxide without nanoparticles. The titanium dioxide used in our sun protection comes from a 100% natural source.
The fragrance tag will keep its scent for up to 3 months.
Defining organic is not as simple as it may seem. As soon as an organic raw material is processed in any way it is no longer considered organic. For instance, the soy wax in our candles is made from organic soy, but since processed may not be called organic. This goes for plants harvested in the wild as well, since they are not controlled through farming, they may not be called organic. We use both organic raw materials that have been processed (and therefore cannot be labelled or mentioned as organic) as well as certified organic ingredients. For some products we have a content of more than 90% certified organic ingredients like for instance our face oil Petitgrain, shea butter and jojoba oil. The base ingredients of our skin care range is always organic and/ or natural, however in some cases we may need to use smaller amounts of nature identical ingredients, such as preservatives that occur naturally in i.e. lingonberries, but is not possible to produce large scale. They have the same molecular build up as the natural original but can be produced without exterminating rare species of plants. Another positive effect is that allergens that may occur naturally in some ingredients can be eliminated.
We are happy to say we do not use any pure palm oil in any of our products. However, there might be small amounts/ traces of it hidden in other ingredients we use, but we are continuously developing formulas to stay clear of any content of palm oil due to its dubious reputation. We assure the small quantities that may appear within other ingredients are always RSPO-certified.
We have a few products that are not completely vegan. Our body butters and lip balm contain beeswax, but the harvest is not in any way harmful to the bees. All other products are completely vegan.
When it comes to our range for home such as room diffusers, scented candles and dishwashing detergents, a global legislation has come into existence that came into full force a year ago. It dictates that all products containing a concentration of perfume/ fragrance that exceeds a certain percentage must be labeled. This is regardless if the fragrance contains of natural essential oils or synthetic perfume. Even if the amount of fragrance oil included in, for instance our room diffusers, contributes to about 19% of the total content, and the fragrance substance which is the requirement for the labeling, is 2% of the total content, there must be a warning label with standardized phrases of different warnings/ cautions.
We never use any parabens, silicones or sulphates in any of our products. The reason we don´t inform about this fact on our packaging is that it is forbidden by EU-law to mention what a product “does not” contain.
The essential oils in our skin care products gives them a natural fragrance, however they are not added to give the product a scent first and foremost. The main reason we use essential oils in our skin care is for their different properties, the scent in itself is secondary. For instance, black pepper seed essential oil has a warming effect and bergamot essential oil acts refreshing and astringent. On rare occasions we add a natural fragrance to a product to give it a certain scent. For instance, our Broccoli seed serum has a natural cucumber fragrance added as the active extracts used have no natural scent at all and unfortunately cucumber cannot produce any essential oil.
Our scented candles are made of wax from 100% organic soy and the wick is made of organic cotton.
The bulk of our room diffuser is a solubilizer. An ingredient extracted from vegetable renewable raw materials and allows the fragrance oil to dissolve and be carried out into the porous rattan reed sticks.
Since we use natural ingredients the texture and scent may vary from one harvest to another depending on soil conditions as well as weather conditions of little or much rain or sunshine.
At L:a Bruket we try to make products that are not harmful to the environment or the people who use them and for that reason we have chosen not to make a sunscreen with chemical filters. Chemical sunscreen filters penetrate the skin and absorbs the sun radiation through a chemical process and converts it to unharmful radiation. Chemical sunscreen filters are debated in what way they might impact the body as well as the environmental damage they cause for coral reefs and aquatic life. Instead, we have chosen a physical UV filter that protects the skin from the UVA and UVB light by creating a thin white layer that reflects the sun rays. At the same time, some of the sun rays are absorbed so that the skin gets a beautiful tan without burning. This means that our sun protection leaves the skin slightly white after application, but at the same time it is precisely this whiteness that will divert the UV rays and protect against ultraviolet radiation damage.
The fragrance base is the same in all three products, however the rest of the ingredients in the different products affect the scent and we perceive it as different depending on the product.
There might be several reasons for a skin reaction to a natural product. Some people are sensitive or allergic to allergens that might occur in essential oils like; linalool, limonene, geraniol and citronellol. Another reason for a skin reaction could be if skin is not used to natural products with active natural ingredients. The skin might blush and burn, bit this will pass after a while as the skin gets used to the ingredients stimulating the skin´s circulation. Yet another reason might be hormonal imbalances in the body making skin blush suddenly after using a product that has been used many times before. Some of our products are meant to really stimulate the skin, for instance our sheet masks, and a blushing after using them is completely normal. If you should experience a reaction to any of our products and feel insecure of the reason, please contact us.
We would recommend the No 100 Face oil Carrot/bergamot which is the richest and most moisturising oil at L:a Bruket. You can also blend a few drops of the same oil in your day or night cream if you feel a need for more nourishment. We also recommend the No 179 Hydrating face mask with a base of Aloe vera and extract of algae. It’s really great for treating the most dehydrated skin two times per week until skin is rehydrated.
If you have sensitive skin it´s always important to avoid products that stimulate the skin in any way. This is to avoid any unnecessary irritation. Sometimes one has to be examined by a dermatologist to determine what triggers any outbreaks and irritations as there might be allergies to certain ingredients. But let´s say you have sensitive skin in general, then we would recommend the following products; 1. No 187 Fennel seed facial wash – Cleanse the skin with this product and some lukewarm water. 2. No 167 Broccoli seed serum – Apply a few drops morning and night to calm and moisturise the skin. 3. No 100 Face oil Carrot/ bergamot – Apply a few drops morning and night right after applying the serum to nourish the skin. 4. No 186 Facial cream light Chamomile/ lavender – Apply a few drops morning and night after the oil to protect, calm and balance the skin. 5. No 168 Cottonseed eye balm – Apply a small dab morning and night around the eyes. Please note it´s only the eye balm that shall be used around the eyes! The other products are used on facial skin, but not the eyes. You can use all of these products on an everyday basis.

Our shampoo No 086 and conditioner No 087, with essential oil from coriander and black pepper, is very caring calming and softening for an itchy dry scalp.
Our products are safe to use in the sun, however the essential oil of bergamot can give skin reactions if spending time in the sun right after application. The amount of essential oil is extremely low in all our products (less than 1% of the total content) so if you use bergamot products in the morning you should experience no problems spending time in the sun later in the day. But it´s always a good thing not to overexpose the skin to sun radiation when using other facial creams either. If you are going on holiday in the sun we would not recommend to use any bergamot products during the day but rather a face cream with sun protection factor.

We use all natural ingredients and as much as we can organic which makes most of our products well suited for sensitive and delicate skin types. The scents we use come from natural essential oils from herbs, and even though the content of the essential oils is a very small in percentage for each product, some people may have a reaction to the different ingredients of essential oils like; Linalool, Geraniol and Limonene for instance. This is quite rare, but still you never know if you might react to it. When it comes to children and infants, they of course have more sensitive skin than us grown-ups, and if you don´t feel comfortable trying a scented product for your child you can always use our unscented products; No 047 Jojoba oil, No 016 Shea butter and No 017 Lip balm. They are perfect for children and small infants since they are all natural and unscented.
Yes, they certainly are. In some cases, people with allergies to essential oils might experience a skin reaction, even though we don’t use them in excessive quantities. As the amount of essential oils are less than 1% in each product, one should not need to worry about using for instance facial products with essential oils during pregnancy. But of course, if you feel any hesitation, we can always recommend our unscented natural products; No 016 Shea butter that works for body, hands, feet and elbows or No 047 Jojoba oil that is perfect for facial care as well as for preventing stretchmarks.
